A long project comes to a close. Over the past several months I have been gathering reference photography, gathering animal bones, doing sketches, talking with geologists and fossil experts, working with fellow artists, building the bucks, making the molds and pulling the casts.

This series offers a little look at what we might be digging up millions of years from now, and it just might be the remains of technology that has yet to be created.

" Mycteria americana by ~ThrowingChicken might look like an archaeological marvel of the bones of a bird, but the Wood Stork miniature of what might be the remains of a futuristic technology in the far future! You can see the bolts and the joints in the legs! Carefully and amazingly executed! Check out this deviant's gallery to get what the future lies for us fossilized by time! " -phoenixleo

Brilliant concept and follow through.

I really like this. I am an ex-geologist/paleontologist and I would love to know how you did this - facinating :)

That looks just like a real fossil.
Who knows? Us humans may have not discovered every fossil there is.
